Facial waxing is considered safe for all skin types. If you have acne, an active infection or certain other skin conditions, we may recommend alternative methods to remove the unwanted hair. Dr. Burroughs determines if facial waxing is the best option during the consultation.

How is Facial Waxing Performed?

We use a wax that melts at lower temperatures so as not to irritate the skin. The aesthetician applies a thin coat of the wax over the area with unwanted hair. The wax is allowed to cool, and as it hardens, the hair becomes trapped. The wax is quickly peeled away from the skin which removes the hair from the root. If you are having a large area waxed or your eyebrows, we may apply the wax in several small areas. We offer facial waxing for the:

What is Recovery Like After Facial Waxing?

The skin may sting and feel slightly irritated for a few seconds after the wax is removed. We use a special product that cools and soothes the skin. You will notice that your skin feels smooth and silky after the treatment.

How Long Will Facial Waxing Results Last?

The hair will develop through a normal growth cycle that can take several weeks, depending on the stage of growth in each follicle. You will not have any stubble as you do with shaving. The hair that grows is thin and does not come back more coarse or darker than the hair that was extracted.
