Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing in Colorado Springs, CO

Erbium laser skin resurfacing treatments provide significant benefits for improving the skin's appearance with minimal downtime. At Springs Aesthetics, we specialize in erbium laser skin resurfacing, offering residents of Colorado Springs, South Denver, Castle Rock, and other areas of Colorado the opportunity to enjoy the remarkable advantages of laser treatments.

What is Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Erbium laser skin resurfacing is an advanced skin rejuvenation technique that uses light energy to ablate, or remove, skin cells. It can help produce a more youthful appearance by targeting aged or damaged skin cells, which reveals brighter, healthier skin underneath. The erbium laser also triggers collagen production in the skin for enhanced anti-aging benefits.

Erbium laser skin resurfacing is a preferred skin resurfacing method because it offers incredible precision compared to other skin resurfacing techniques. The erbium laser can deliver narrow beams of laser energy to the target area, which prevents the surrounding skin tissue from being affected by treatment. Overall, erbium laser skin resurfacing can be an effective treatment solution for addressing:

  • Lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Scars and acne scars
  • And more

How Much Does Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing Cost?

When you meet with Dr. Burroughs for an erbium laser skin resurfacing consultation, he will recommend the best approach and develop a treatment plan. The cost of your skin resurfacing will be based upon that treatment plan. Most often a series of treatments provides the best and longest lasting results.  For your convenience, Springs Aesthetics offers financing options through CareCredit® and Alphaeon®, and you can apply before you meet with Dr. Burroughs.

Am I a Candidate for Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Erbium laser skin resurfacing is a precise, customizable laser treatment that is suitable for nearly all skin types. If you are interested in improving lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation or other skin concerns, you may be a good candidate for erbium laser skin resurfacing. However, the best way to determine whether you’re a candidate for erbium laser skin resurfacing is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Burroughs.

What is the Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment Like?

The erbium laser skin resurfacing treatment can be administered to the face, hands, neck, chest and more. Before treatment begins, we’ll administer a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area and minimize discomfort. Then, we’ll use a handheld erbium laser applicator to deliver pulses of laser energy to the desired treatment areas. This process may take 1 to 2 hours depending on the size of the area being treated.

What is Recovery Like After Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing?

The recovery period after erbium laser resurfacing is generally shorter compared to CO2 lasers and other aggressive forms of laser skin resurfacing, typically ranging from a few days to a week or two. However, the exact recovery experience will vary depending on the depth and intensity if your treatment. In most cases, you can expect some redness, swelling, and mild discomfort in the treated area, similar to a sunburn. Over the next few days, the treated skin will start to peel and flake, revealing fresher, healthier skin underneath. It is crucial to protect your skin from the sun during the healing process, by using sunscreen and/or avoiding direct sun exposure.

What are the Results from Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing?

After erbium laser skin resurfacing, you will gradually notice improvements in your skin as it heals and regenerates. Initial improvements in texture and tone can be observed during the first week or two following treatment. Collagen production continues over several weeks and months, leading to further enhancements in skin texture, firmness, and overall appearance. The full results develop over time as collagen remodels and strengthens. The number of treatments needed for best results will vary, as some individuals achieve great results with a single treatment, while others may require multiple sessions, spaced several weeks apart.
