FaceTite® in Colorado Springs

WSprings Aesthetics offers FaceTite® for men and women in Colorado Springs, South Denver, Castle Rock and other areas of Colorado. FaceTite® uses an advanced energy source to stimulate collagen and tighten loose skin.

What is FaceTite®?

FaceTite is a a minimally-invasive procedure that delivers the same results of a mini face lift without surgery, stitches or scarring. Springs Aesthetics and Dr. Burroughs use radiofrequency technology to rejuvenate and tone skin in as little as one visit. FaceTite is the same technology used in BodyTite and NeckTite and promises to take years off your face and neck without discomfort or downtime.

FaceTite® relies on radiofrequency (RF) energy to help with signs of aging that are related to loose, sagging skin. The RF energy produces a thermal effect that stimulates collagen production and tightens the tissues. It can also be used to reduce fat in unwanted areas. Dr. Burroughs often recommends FaceTite® for men and women who may not have the more advanced signs of aging that require a surgical facelift.

Before and After Pictures

How is FaceTite performed?

Minimally invasive radiofrequency assisted liposuction (RFAL) is done under oral sedation, sometimes nitrous oxide (Pro-Nox) supplementation, and tumescent local anesthesia in the office setting. Large areas can undergo aspiration liposuction followed by radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin utilizing a probe that goes under the skin and has an external temperature monitor to automatically shut off the energy if the temperature rises too high. The Inmode RFAL platform works amazingly well as it utilizes bipolar energy as compared to Thermi’s monopolar, and is very safe and we have had no patient complications utilizing it. Areas that RFAL may be performed include: face, neck, abdomen, back, breasts (“BreastTite” to lift them), abdomen, thighs, and buttocks.

Prominent neck fat is nicely addressed by liposuction followed by RFAL. FaceTite offers the ability to lift the face without surgery and provides an opportunity to not only lift jowls upward, but to reduce fatty prominence (“chipmunk cheeks”) which traditional facelifting cannot. Bodytite is the equivalent for large areas of the body that need significant fat removal and contouring. Traditional aspiration liposuction is amazing for removing fat, but leaves skin sagging and loose. This is why RFAL is such an amazing revolution in body contouring because it is superior to liposuction alone as skin tightening (contraction up to nearly 40% in studies) occurs with a single treatment.

Does FaceTite® hurt?

This procedure does not typically hurt during or after.  Dilute (tumescent) local anesthesia is all that is needed.  Tumescent local is often all that is needed for many patients undergoing small areas of liposuction.  Most patients after the procedure take nothing or over-the-counter Tylenol.

How Much Does FaceTite® Cost?

The average cost of a FaceTite® treatment at Springs Aesthetics is determined on a patient-by-patient basis. Your cost is based upon the personalized treatment plan that Dr. Burroughs develops during your consultation. If you are interested in financing your FaceTite® procedure, we accept payment by CareCredit® and Alphaeon®.

What Areas Can FaceTite® be Used?

FaceTite can be used anywhere above the shoulders, but is recommended for skin around the:

  • Jowls
  • Neck
  • Naso-labial folds
  • Brow
  • Cheeks
  • Eyes
  • Mouth
  • Forehead
  • Jawline

Am I a Candidate for FaceTite®?

A minimally invasive facelift with FaceTite® is recommended for patients who have wrinkles and creases that are caused by laxity. Dr. Burroughs may also recommend the procedure for those who do not wish to undergo surgery.

Some patients should not undergo a FaceTite procedure.  This would be any one who is pregnant or has an indwelling electronic device (e.g., pacemaker).

Patients with significant areas of facial fat atrophy need to be carefully treated by an aesthetic surgeon, who fully understands the facial anatomy, and age-related fat pad deflations.  The powerful RF energy can cause thermolipolysis, which is helpful for the fatty jowls or submental fat pads.  However, areas of significant fat loss should not be heavily treated or it will worsen atrophic age-related disruption of more youthful fat contours.  Dr. Burroughs, with his cosmetic facial surgery experience, can tailor the treatments to avoid worsening facial fat deflation, but still obtain improvements to other areas and still lift along the lower face.

What is a FaceTite® Procedure?

FaceTite® is one of the most effective minimally invasive facelift treatments available due to the way that the bipolar RF energy is applied.   Dr. Burroughs has been using FaceTite on a weekly basis for nearly 4 years, and one of the most experienced in Colorado having been the second physician to get this technology.  The hand-piece has a probe that is inserted into tissues that are numbed prior to the treatment. The upper part of the handpiece has a wide RF applicator. As the device is pulled along the skin, the RF energy is applied inside the tissues as well as on the surface. Most patients achieve the desired results with just one FaceTite® treatment, which in some candidates can be up to 50% of a surgical facelift.

Can FaceTite® be performed with any other procedures?

Yes, it certainly can be and commonly is when Dr. Burroughs performs cosmetic surgery and procedures.  This includes in conjunction with skin resurfacing (CO2 laser, RF Fractora/Morpheus energy needle resurfacing), surgical facelifts (further helps fatty jowls, prominent nasolabial folds-“parentheses”), midface lifts, necklifts, submental fat reduction, forehead lifts, eye lifts- blepharoplasty, liposuction, and more. Dermal fillers can also be done following following FaceTite® procedures to further enhance the results.

What Should I Expect During FaceTite® Recovery?

The average downtime for a FaceTite® treatment is only a few days. During the first 48-72 hours, you will wear a compression garment and need to stay home from work and rest. You can resume light activities after two to three days.  Common symptoms after a FaceTite® procedure are mild swelling, tenderness and discomfort. In most cases, any discomfort can be managed with over-the-counter Tylenol.

Considerable improvement is seen in the first few months then continues to improve the most in 6 months, but in some patients up to a year.

Does FaceTite® have risks?

FaceTite is considered one of the industry’s most advanced and safest facial rejuvenating and skin contouring procedures. FaceTite uses the same kind of radiofrequency technology used in MRIs, Thermage and other medical treatments that have been safely performed for years. FaceTite was developed to treat delicate areas of skin without causing cellular damage to tissues

The risks include sensor or motor nerve injury, over or under fat reduction causing or not improving displeasing contours, under treatment, small areas of elevation/redness at the probe insertion sites, and rarely infection. Dr. Burroughs has only seen mild and temporary sensory nerve weakness, but no issues of motor nerve injury.  Dr. Burroughs has never seen a burn or severe scar in the treatment areas because of the advanced safety technology build into the Inmode technology devices.  Dr. Burroughs has seen no severe worsening of contours because of his training and experience as an experience oculofacial plastic surgeon.  He has also had no infections with this procedure.  Dr. Burroughs receives calls from across the U.S. about his experience with FaceTite and to provide guidance to other physicians.

How Long Does FaceTite® Last?

The results keep improving for up to 6 months and work so well, in fact, that facetite/necktite can be used as a non-surgical face and/or neck lift for many patients with results of FaceTite® lasting up to 3-4 years, but this does vary by patient. Each person’s body ages differently. Dr. Burroughs will recommend a schedule of follow-up appointments to monitor the results.

For more than 20 years, Dr. John Burroughs has helped men and women in Colorado Springs, South Denver, Castle Rock and other areas of Colorado, as well as internationally, by providing exceptional care in plastic surgery and eyelid surgery. At his practice, he also offers medical spa treatments that are performed by his aestheticians. To learn more about FaceTite®, contact us today to schedule a consultation.
