Dr. John Burroughs is an ophthalmic plastic surgeon subspecializing primarily in cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid and facial surgery. This patient was significantly bothered by her upper eyelid hooding that was causing visual interference problems. She also had red, uncomfortable eyes exacerbated by the lower eyelid retraction (pulling down). She also didn’t like the lower eyelid bagginess. She underwent a functional upper blepharoplasty with cosmetic browpexy and cosmetic lower eyelid fat blepharoplasty and chemical peeling of lower eyelid skin. She has been very pleased with her results and has said she can see better and looks better. She also feels her eyes are more comfortable now that the lower eyelid retraction has been addressed. She sill has some mild residual skin redness, which resolve over a few months.
