Otoplasty in Colorado Springs

Springs Aesthetics offers otoplasty for men and women in Colorado Springs, South Denver, Castle Rock and other areas of Colorado. Otoplasty surgery helps with abnormal ear shape and position.

What is Otoplasty?

Otoplasty (Ear Surgery) in Colorado Springs, COOtoplasty is a type of cosmetic surgery for the ears. Dr. Burroughs offers ear lobe surgery and other procedures that can reduce, reshape. Many people decide to have ear surgery because they are embarrassed by their ears, but the surgery also helps to improve facial proportions and balance.

How Much Does Otoplasty Cost?

The average cost of otoplasty is determined on a patient-by-patient basis. We can discuss your cost during the consultation with Dr. Burroughs. Springs Aesthetics works with CareCredit® and Alphaeon® to offer financing options to our patients. You can apply prior to your consultation.

Am I a Candidate for Otoplasty?

Dr. Burroughs explains what to expect from your ear surgery to help you envision the improvements that are expected.

How is Otoplasty Performed?

Dr. Burroughs is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Each case is unique, but some of the more common procedures that Dr. Burroughs performs are:

  • Elf ear surgery to shorten and shape the cartilage in the top of the ear
  • Ear lobe surgery to repair or reshape the ear lobes
  • Pixie-ear deformity repair

What is Recovery Like After Otoplasty?

After the procedure, Dr. Burroughs may wrap your ears with bandages to hold the tissues in place. Expect some redness and swelling.  You should not rub, massage or apply any pressure to the ears as this will interfere with proper healing. Any discomfort can be managed with non-prescription medications.

Ear lobe surgery requires less recovery. The incision should mostly heal within two to three weeks. We recommend that you not wear any heavy earrings or other types of jewelry, as these practices can stretch the lobes.  Torn ear lobe repairs will likely require new “pinning.”

How Long Will Otoplasty Results Last?

Otoplasty surgery permanently changes the cartilage and soft tissues of the ears. Your new ear shape should last for the rest of your life, with the exception of any effects of aging and future injuries to your ears.
