Dr. John Burroughs is a cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon in Colorado Springs, CO. He serves and treats patients from all over Colorado. One of his number one surgeries is upper blepharoplasty. This is plastic surgery on the eyelids. This can improve headaches and brow fatigue from having to pull upward on forehead to see better. It also can improve one’s appearance like in this patient, who felt she looked tired and older than she felt. She underwent an upper blepharoplasty and browpexy–sutures under the eyebrows to raise and stabilize their position. She felt she looked more effeminate and rested again following surgery. Non-surgically one can try botox for a “chemical” or “botox” brow lift. Additionally, some dermal filler can be placed into the upper brow area to gently raise and add aesthetic fullness to the lateral brow tissue area, which is a beauty feature noted on many models. Surgical brow lifting can also be done, and Dr. Burroughs prefers a hairline approach that can be done in the office-setting.
Dr. John Burroughs specializes in eyelids, orbits, and faces and has performed over 20,000 related procedures. His role in oculofacial plastic surgeries has been highly appreciated.
He is an alumnus of the Air Academy High School, University of Texas, and Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine), Maryland. He later followed a transitional internship and ophthalmology residency in San Antonio, TX, and has decades of aesthetic treatment experience.
Dr. Burroughs is American Board of Ophthalmology-certified and is a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Reconstructive Surgeons, the Oculofacial Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of many other associations. He is a lifelong learner and teacher.
