If you are seeking a solution for enhancing your facial skin, you may want to ask the team at Springs Aesthetics of Colorado Springs, Colorado, about the advantages of our VIP chemical peels. Facial peels are great for dark spots, pigmentation problems, and other skin imperfections. Let’s look at some of the more frequently asked questions about our Vi chemical peel to help you decide if it is right for you!
Dr. John Burroughs describes the Vi chemical peel as gentle yet powerful and safe for all skin types. It exfoliates the epidermis and promotes the formation of collagen by combining Trichloroacetic acid (TCA), Retinoic acid, Salicylic acid, Phenol, and Vitamin C.
The Vi chemical peel works by penetrating deep into the layers of the skin to remove dead skin cells and reveal smoother, brighter, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin. The blend of acids in the peel also reduces fine lines and wrinkles, improves texture and tone, and decreases hyperpigmentation.
Many of our patients report feeling a mild stinging or burning sensation after the peel is applied. However, this usually subsides within a few minutes. Some patients may also experience slight redness and peeling after the treatment.
Results from this facial chemical peel can vary from patient to patient, but most of our patients notice an improvement in their skin’s texture and tone within one week of the treatment. For the best possible results, we recommend a series of three to six treatment sessions spaced out over several weeks.
Most of our patients do not experience any significant downtime after receiving a Vi chemical peel. However, some may experience mild redness and peeling for a few days following the treatment.
There can always be some risk with any medical intervention, but the Vi chemical peel is one of the safest of all chemical peel systems. It can be used on light to darker pigmented skin types as the risk of permanent color change or scarring to the skin is extremely minimal. Sometimes, similar to a sunburn, a fever blister could be triggered. Patients that are prone to fever blisters are recommended to take a prescription antiviral to reduce the risk of a fever blister infection in the skin that could cause slow healing and potential scarring. Precautions are taken around the eyes to avoid contact of the Vi chemical peel and the ocular surface as any contact would be very uncomfortable, but not damaging to vision in the longrun.
The Vi chemical peel is effective in treating a variety of skin imperfections, including dark spots, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and uneven skin tone. It also improves the skin’s overall tone, texture, and appearance.
The Vi chemical peel is safe for all skin types and ages. However, it may not suit those with sensitive skin or certain medical conditions. Our team can assess your skin and medical history to decide if this treatment suits you.
