Facelifts help you look younger by removing sagging skin. A thread lift may provide similar or complementary results by lifting the sagging skin with sutures. Springs Aesthetics offers a face and neck thread lift for men and women in Colorado Springs, South Denver, Castle Rock and other areas of Colorado.

What is a Thread Lift?

A thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure that helps men and women look younger without the extensive surgery that is required for a traditional surgical facelift. The thread lift works by implanting sterile surgical suture lifting threads within sagging skin, and tightening the sutures to lift the skin. Over time, the body develops more collagen in the area while the sutures slowly dissolve.

How Much Does a Thread Lift Cost?

Call our office for pricing. The cost of our InstaLift® thread lift varies depending on how much correction is needed. You are provided with a specific cost as part of your consultation with Melissa 30-45 minutes, and we can also explain our financing options through CareCredit® and Alphaeon®.

Am I a Candidate for a Thread Lift?

The thread lift is best for patients who have isolated sagging in specific areas of the face, such as the cheeks, midface, jowls, and even the brows and neck. Dr. Burroughs may recommend dermal fillers and skin resurfacing in conjunction with the thread lift to achieve the most desirable anti-aging benefits.

Before and After Pictures

Is a Thread Lift Safe?

It can be very safe, but is best performed by aesthetic surgeons or their supervised and thoroughly trained physician team members.  The main though unlikely risk is bunching of the tissue, which can be improved with digital massage over the area.  If a non-desirable result occurs then it can be relieved by a small incision(s) to adjust the lift.  Infection is very low with thorough skin prep and disinfection with a sterile field.

How is a Thread Face Lift Performed?

The InstaLift® thread face lift relies on surgical sutures that are constructed with tiny cones along the thread. These cones are important because they help to hold the tissues in place. Prior to the procedure, Dr. Burroughs determines the ideal locations to place the threads, as well as the amount and direction of tension necessary. A thread face lift typically takes 30 to 45 minutes and requires local anesthesia.

How is a Thread Lift Neck Performed?

Dr. Burroughs uses the same suture technique for a thread lift in the neck area. The procedure helps with a crepe-paper appearance, as well as lines and folds that are caused by sagging skin.

What is Recovery Like After a Thread Lift?

Recovery from a thread lift procedure is minimal. The improvement is immediate but keeps improving for several months. You are able to drive after the treatment. The most common symptoms are tenderness, minor swelling and slight reddening of the skin. You can rest at home for the day or return to your normal activities. Any discomfort is managed with non-prescription medications. There is some aftercare for a thread lift. You should not massage or rub the area when you are using skin care products or washing your face. Sleep with your head elevated and avoid positions that place pressure on the area.  If bruising (typically low risk) develops you can receive complimentary intense pulse light treatments that dramatically speed bruise resolution.  Prior to a thread lift the risk of bruising can be reduced by avoiding blood thinners prior to the procedure if medically safe to do so.

How Long Will Thread Lift Results Last?

Our patients typically enjoy the results of their thread lifts for 12 to 36 months, although this depends on how quickly your body breaks down the sutures, as well as how your skin ages.
