As a specialty plastic surgery office, Dr. John Burroughs and our team at Springs Aesthetics offer all sorts of treatments that are advanced alternatives to traditional services. These advanced treatments are generally more effective and customizable than their older or conventional counterparts. Dermalinfusion (DiamondGlow® formerly SilkPeel®) is one of these modern treatments available at our Colorado Springs, Colorado, practice. It is an alternative to the typical microdermabrasion service whose benefits go beyond exfoliating the skin.
Dermalinfusion treatments comprise three treatments performed in tandem:
Dermalinfusion is a type of treatment that is known by the brand name DiamondGlow® (formerly SilkPeel®). Microdermabrasion generally involves using special devices to lift away dead skin cells. When these cells build up on the surface, it can make the skin look dull, uneven, and rough. This process encourages new skin cells and a fresh appearance. Dermalinfusion is an exfoliating service that also provides deep cleaning and infuses special SkinMedica® Pro-Infusion serums.
DiamondGlow owes its name to the fact that the tips of the wands used to physically exfoliate your skin are made from real diamonds. These tips provide controlled exfoliation to remove the outermost layer of the skin. There are various tips to choose from, each carefully customized to your needs. Since the tips have varying levels of abrasion, some may be better suited for certain skin types and areas of the face than others. The “glow” part of the name refers to what you get from this unique system. As the dead cells are removed, your fresh and glowing skin will be revealed.
DiamondGlow® is really not a single treatment, but rather a combination of treatments that work together to restore your skin’s youthful smoothness, silkiness, and vibrancy. As the diamond tips are gently passed over your skin, high-powered suction clears away dirt and debris at the surface and deeply from within the skin’s pores. Now, your pores are open and most receptive to the SkinMedica® Pro-Infusion serums.
By infusing serums at this step in the process, the active ingredients within them can penetrate deeply. This supports better, longer-lasting results than what you may get from a topical serum applied at home. Additionally, as another example of DiamondGlow’s customization, we carefully select the right serum for you based on your skin’s condition, needs, and other factors. For instance, some serums are formulated for acne-prone skin or dry, and thirsty skin that could use the hydration.
These amazing treatments can be performed with no discomfort and no downtime. They are a great way to optimize your skin prior to important social events. The better your skin feels and looks, the more confident you will feel at social gatherings.
Because every step in this 3-in-1 treatment can be customized, many patients with diverse skin types, tones, and concerns can benefit. However, if your skin is compromised in any way by things like severe acne, active rosacea, sores, sunburn, and infections, Dr. Burroughs will recommend either putting off treatment to another time or an alternative treatment (such as Blue IPL or RadioFrequency Microneedling). And our plastic surgery practice has numerous advanced procedures for individuals who may not be good candidates for DiamondGlow®. Your glowing, healthy skin awaits at the office of Springs Aesthetics, and it starts with a consultation.
