Enjoy microneedling treatment with Pixel8 radiofrequency.
Ever wish you could wake up with skin that looks refreshed, tight, and downright glowing? It’s possible with the Pixel8 radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment! This cutting-edge technology has been taking the beauty world by storm, blending the powers of microneedling with radiofrequency energy to supercharge your skin’s natural rejuvenation process. At Springs Aesthetics, Dr. John R. Burroughs of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is excited to offer this treatment for those ready for improved skin texture and tone. Let’s learn more about it and what it can provide.
What is the Pixel8 RF treatment?
The Pixel8 RF treatment works by creating microscopic “injuries” on the skin’s surface with tiny needles, all while delivering heat through radiofrequency waves. This might sound intense, but these controlled injuries trigger your body’s natural healing response. The result? Collagen and elastin production go through the roof, helping to smooth fine lines, tighten skin, and improve texture.
Why does everyone love Pixel8 microneedling with radiofrequency?
Our skin naturally loses collagen over time as a part of the aging process, which can lead to wrinkles, sagging, and dullness. Pixel8 RF microneedling treatment gives your skin the nudge to replace what’s been lost. It minimizes acne scars, reduces pore size, and evens out pigmentation. Plus, it is safe for all skin tones and types. The best part? There’s minimal downtime, so you can get the treatment and return to your busy life!
Is the Pixel8 RF microneedling treatment painful?
Not really! While the tiny needles and heat might sound intimidating, Dr. John R. Burroughs and/or his team apply a numbing cream before the treatment, so it is more like a mild tingling sensation than actual pain. Many of our patients report that it is worth it for the results! Because some patients may be anxious or more pain sensitive than others, nitrous oxide laughing gas (Pro-Nox) may also be used to make the procedure go comfortably and smoothly. The effects of the nitrous oxide where off in 10 minutes, so there is not long-term drowsy or sedative-type effects.
How long does a treatment session take?
A typical Pixel8 RF session lasts 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. The topical anesthetic needs to be in place about 30-60 minutes to ensure good effect.
When will I start to see the results from treatment?
Some patients notice an immediate glow after their first session, but the magic happens over the next few weeks to months as natural collagen production kicks in. For best results, most of our patients need three treatments spaced around one month apart. As with most energy-based skin tightening treatments, the most significant improvement benefits begin to be noticed between 2-6 months.
Can the Pixel8 RF microneedling treatment be used to treat various skin concerns?
Absolutely! Pixel8 RF is great for improving fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and even stretch marks. It’s a versatile treatment that tackles multiple skin woes at once.
Is Pixel8 the same as Morpheus8?
No, but they utilize similar radio-frequency (RF) energy and microneedling to deliver tiny and controlled injuries to the skin to help stimulate a healing response. This response leads to collagen production and other tissue remodeling that can lead to tightening. The timing-manner that the energy is delivered varies between the two technology platforms. This leads to a more comfortable treatment with Pixel8, but generally less powerful treatment compared to Morpheus8. However, because of these differences, the Pixel8 is performed with just topical anesthetic, by the spa, and typically no nerve blocks or tumescent anesthesia is needed. This leads to less downtime from swelling and no sedation is needed. Generally, Pixel8 is mostly for skin tightening while Morpheus8 can be customized for deeper and more aggressive treatments that can tighten skin and reduce some areas of unwanted fat. Both can be used on all skin types, and both can be combined with IPL (Intense Pulse Light) skin discoloration/redness treatments for a “brighten and tighten” effect. They can also be performed in a hybrid-fashion with laser (fractionated CO2 or Erbium) and both can see boosted results utilizing PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) since the tiny micro-channels in the skin are an excellent opportunity to deliver PRP into the tissues. Oftentimes, we also apply topical TXA (Tranexamic Acid) to treat or reduce hyperpigmentation risks for those prone to these issues.
Will I need to schedule any downtime after my treatment?
One of the best things about Pixel8 radiofrequency microneedling treatment is minimal downtime. You might experience some redness or mild swelling for a day or two, but this will resolve on its own. There can also be some minor pin-point bleeding, but this can be gently washed off the following day.
Who is considered a proper candidate for Pixel8 RF microneedling?
Pixel8 RF is perfect for anyone looking to tighten their skin, reduce scars, or boost their glow. Whether you are in your late 20s and want to be proactive or in your 50s looking to turn back the clock, this treatment has something for everyone! Dr. Burroughs’ experience with energy-based treatments is that they can benefit most everyone, but show typically show the best and most predictable results for those under 70. They can still be beneficial over 70 years old, but the results are not as consistent.
