What are the options that Dr. Burroughs offers to improve the neck?
Dr. Burroughs has brought together options from non-surgical to minimally invasive to surgical.
Dr. Burroughs and Melissa Burroughs, LPN, perform thread lifts with the Silhouette Instalift. Generally, they advise more powerful and durable techniques for sagging neck tissues. Still, for some, this rapidly performed procedure, done without any sedation, can provide immediate improvements that generally get better over the next several months. There are no incisions, and as the threads slowly dissolve, they also can improve skin quality and volume. Silhouette Instalift thread results can be up to 12-24 months, but because the neck tissues undergo wide movements, they often don’t last as long as they do in the face.
Dr. Burroughs has numerous energy treatments that utilize radiofrequency to heat the tissues and induce remodeling and collagen production. Some are performed as spa services (e.g., Evoke, Forma, Mini-FX, Pixel-8 radiofrequency microneedling). In contrast, others that are more aggressive are performed by Dr. Burroughs or his surgical team assistants (Morpheus 8 radiofrequency microneedling, FaceTite, NeckTite subdermal radiofrequency tightening).
Dr. Burroughs was among the first in Colorado to perform suture suspension neck contouring and lifting with the MyEllevate permanent suture suspension technique. Dr. Burroughs has modified this technique to enhance the results and maintain its longevity for several years.
Dr. Burroughs removes excess neck fat under the chin using several techniques, including radiofrequency treatments, and more aggressively by either direct lipectomy (surgical removal) through a small under-chin incision or liposuction.
Surgically, Dr. Burroughs contours and lifts the neck using submentoplasty techniques, suturing the split platysma muscle bands back together, and lateral behind-the-ear techniques. Some patients require skin removal either under the chin and/or behind the ears, depending upon the age-related or weight-loss-related skin redundancy or laxity present.
