At Springs Aesthetics, Dr. John Burroughs and his team are available to help patients address common imperfections of the face and body. This includes sagging skin around the jaw and jowl area. Many patients find relief with a non-surgical facelift to achieve a more youthful appearance. Below are a few frequently asked questions about non-surgical facelifts for improving the jaw and jowls.
Our team describes the non-surgical facelift as a minimally invasive procedure that aims to improve the appearance of the jaw and jowls without the need for surgery. Several methods are available to non-surgically improving (tightening/contouring) the face and neck: 1) “Liquid” facelift with fillers, volumizers, and wrinkle blockers; 2) Thread lifting: 3) Energy-based (Morpheus8/Pixel8 radiofrequency microneedling); 4) Laser Resurfacing (CO2 Laser) ; and 4) Subdermal topical energy-based (FaceTite, NeckTite)
Non-surgical facelifts are generally best for middle-aged (up to 60s) male and female patients looking for a subtle improvement in their facial features. It is not recommended for those with severe sagging skin or excessive fat deposits in the face, as these may require surgical procedures for significant improvements.
The effects of a non-surgical facelift can vary greatly depending on the techniques used and individual factors such as skin type and lifestyle habits. In general, results can last anywhere from 6 months to 2-3 years. The longevity depends upon many factors to include stability of one’s body weight, overall health, how much change is needed, and overall skin quality. Our team will provide personalized recommendations for maintaining your results and prolonging the effects of your non-surgical facelift.
As with any medical procedure, you need to be aware of some potential risks and side effects before undergoing a non-surgical facelift. These may include bruising, swelling, redness, and temporary numbness in the treated area. However, Dr. John Burroughs and his team take every precaution to minimize these risks and ensure a safe and successful procedure.
One of the major benefits of a non-surgical facelift is that little to no downtime is required. Most of our patients are able to return to their daily activities immediately after this procedure, although it is highly recommended that they avoid any strenuous exercise or activities for at least 24 hours. Some swelling and bruising might occur, but it should subside within a few days.
