Dr. John Burroughs practices oculofacial plastic surgery. This attractive patient was bothered by the jowling along her jawline, wrinkling of the upper neck, and wrinkling around her mouth. She underwent a mini-facelift with upper neck lift and dermal fillers around her mouth lines. This surgery has a very fast recovery, and many patients can return to normal activities within a day or two. The sutures are removed in 7-10 days, and the main precaution is not to excessively turn the neck from side to side. Full activities can be resumed upon suture removal. Many patients can go out in public the next day as the bruising, pain, and swelling is minimal. Dr. Burroughs most commonly performs this procedure in the office under local anesthesia. The patient’s results are shown below, and she was very happy with her surgical success.
