Dr. John Burroughs practices cosmetic and reconstructive surgery serving the Colorado Springs and southern Colorado region. As we age, many changes occur around our eyes and face. Shown are pictures of President Lincoln showing him before the Civil War and following the Civil War. It is readily apparent that he has more forehead and between the brow wrinkles. He also has noticeable bagginess and wrinkles under his eyes and deeper crows feet wrinkles. His peri-oral wrinkles are also remarkably deeper.
His forehead, brow, and eyelid wrinkles could be improved with wrinkle blocker injections. His lower eyelid puffiness could be improved with a lower blepharoplasty including some fat and skin removal. Dermal fillers could be placed into his nasolabial and marionette folds around his mouth. He also has ptosis (drooping) of his upper eyelid margins that could be lifted. These are all procedures that Dr. Burroughs is a recognized expert at treating.
Dr. John Burroughs specializes in eyelids, orbits, and faces and has performed over 20,000 related procedures. His role in oculofacial plastic surgeries has been highly appreciated.
He is an alumnus of the Air Academy High School, University of Texas, and Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine), Maryland. He later followed a transitional internship and ophthalmology residency in San Antonio, TX, and has decades of aesthetic treatment experience.
Dr. Burroughs is American Board of Ophthalmology-certified and is a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Reconstructive Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of many other associations. He is a lifelong learner and teacher.
