Dr. John Burroughs practices cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid and facial plastic surgery in Colorado Springs. He is a recognized expert, and was asked to contribute to the second edition of “Pearls and Pitfalls in Cosmetic Oculoplastic Surgery,” which was just published by Springer 2015. He wrote 25 chapters covering a span of topics to include: safer periocular injection techniques; upper blepharoplasty (eyelid lift); lower blepharoplasty; postoperative swelling avoidance and management; scar and wound management; management of severe bleeding; forehead lifting; cosmetic botulinum injections; advance wrinkle blocker injection techniques; cosmetic dermal fillers; reconstructive dermal filler uses; and surgical decision making. He is pleased to see the book come to fruition, and to have contributed along with many other great surgical masters in the field.
Dr. John Burroughs specializes in eyelids, orbits, and faces and has performed over 20,000 related procedures. His role in oculofacial plastic surgeries has been highly appreciated.
He is an alumnus of the Air Academy High School, University of Texas, and Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine), Maryland. He later followed a transitional internship and ophthalmology residency in San Antonio, TX, and has decades of aesthetic treatment experience.
Dr. Burroughs is American Board of Ophthalmology-certified and is a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Reconstructive Surgeons, the Oculofacial Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of many other associations. He is a lifelong learner and teacher.
