Dr. John Burroughs is an ophthalmologist, who subspecializes in oculoplastics. Benign essential blepharospasm is an issue that Dr. Burroughs has been treating since 1997. This is a disorder of eyelid spasms that can cause functional blindness as these patients get involuntary eyelid closure that can limit their ability to safely drive and perform other important visual activities such as reading and computer use.
