Dr. John Burroughs of Springs Aesthetics offers Belotero® for men and women in Colorado Springs, South Denver, Castle Rock and other areas of Colorado. Belotero® is a cross-linked hyaluronic acid facial filler. With over 20 years experience in ophthalmic plastic surgery, Dr. Burroughs travels around the world, teaching injection best practices and techniques.
What is Belotero®?
Belotero® contains hyaluronic acid that occurs naturally in the skin. It attracts water, increasing the fullness or plumpness of the skin. As we age, we lose hyaluronic acid from the skin, resulting in loss of fullness and deflation. Belotero® filler can increase the fullness and inflate the skin.
An advantage of Belotero® compared to all other hyaluronic acid fillers is that it is specially formulated to avoid appearing blue under the skin. Many hyaluronic acid fillers that are placed too superficially can appear blue, like how our veins appear blue. The fact that hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the skin accounts for the low incidence of allergic reaction to Belotero®.
How Much Does Belotero® Cost?
Call our office for pricing. The number of syringes that are needed is determined during your consultation at Springs Aesthetics. The treatment is performed by Dr. Burroughs or one of our licensed nurse injectors. If you are interested in making payments for your Belotero® filler, we offer financing through CareCredit® and Alphaeon®.
Am I a Candidate for Belotero®?
Belotero® is recommended for treating lines and wrinkles in the lower third of the face, including:
- Smile lines
- Nasolabial folds
- Lines around the lips and at the corners
Dr. Burroughs also recommends Belotero® under eyes treatments for patients with bags, hollowness, and fine lines in the area. Belotero® lips treatments rejuvenates your smile and gives you a more vibrant appearance.
How is Belotero® Performed?
The Belotero® syringes are designed with thin needles that are used to make the injections. The gel is administered at a specific depth to even out the entire wrinkle for a completely natural look.
Does Belotero® Filler Hurt When Injected?
You may feel a slight prick on your skin followed by a minor pressure as the gel enters the tissues. Most patients can tolerate the sensation. If you feel uneasy at any time, we can numb the skin before completing the injections.
What is Recovery Like After Belotero®?
No downtime is necessary with Belotero® filler, and you can return to your normal schedule right after the appointment. You may notice some mild swelling around each injection site for the first one to two days. You should not rub or massage the area for at least three to five days, after which time the gel will be settled into your skin.
How Long Will Belotero® Results Last?
In most cases, Belotero® filler lasts at least six months. The longevity of Belotero® under eyes treatments or Belotero® lips injections may last a little more or a little less time.
